Md Rakibul Islam is currently doing his Ph.D. as an ORC Doctoral Fellow under the supervision of Dr. Mohamed Abdel-Aty. Earlier he was employed as "Assistant Professor" in the Department of Civil Engineering at Dhaka University of Engineering and Technology (DUET), Bangladesh since October 2018. He received his M.Sc. in Transportation Engineering from Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET) in June 2018. Immediately after the graduation from Department of Civil Engineering, Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET) back in March 2016, he started his career as a “Lecturer” in the Ahsanullah University of Science and Technology, Dhaka. Later, in August 2016, He joined as a “Lecturer” in the Dhaka University of Engineering & Technology (DUET). Mr. Islam has research and professional track record on Traffic Safety, and ITS. Particularly his research articles have been published from IET Intelligent Transport Systems, ASCE, Journal of Transportation Safety & Security, Transportation Research Interdisciplinary Perspectives and many other journals. In addition, he presented his works in many prestigious conferences including TRB Annual Meetings. Currently he has 16 Journal Articles and 11 Conference Papers. Mr. Islam is the Reviewer of many journals and conferences i.e., TRB Annual Meeting, Transportation Research Interdisciplinary Perspectives, and so on. He is also affiliated with various professional organizations and has shown his demonstrated leadership and management skills in recognized professional and volunteering organizations and activities.
